Are you wondering what you are going to do when you leave school or college? Perhaps you have already decided, or may be not! Either way if you come along to skillscymru you’ll be able to find out more about careers, tips on getting the ideal job and what options are available.
What?
skillscymru is the biggest hands-on, have a go, interactive, exciting careers event in Wales.
Whatever career you’re interested in, there will be something for you at skillscymru from aerospace engineer to woodcarver, chef to therapist, midwife to financial advisor.

Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. [click for map]
When?
Thursday 16 & Friday 17 September 9.30am to 3pm
Saturday 18 September 10am to 4pm
You can visit at any time, big groups are being encouraged to visit on Thursday and Friday in organised time slots, everyone is welcome on Saturday we suggest you pre-register but you can just turn up.
How?
skillscymru will be separated into zones so you can find the right area for you. When you arrive at skillscymru you’ll need to find your own way around, so a bit of planning and preparation means you can target what you want to see.
Have a plan - start thinking about who you want to meet and what questions you want to ask.
Don’t be afraid – everyone there wants to meet you and chat about careers and opportunities.
Get involved – this is your chance to have a go and try out your future career.
There will be lots of information but don’t just collect bags and freebies – unless you use the information it won’t help you. Share the brochures with family, friends and advisers; you might find they can help you get where you want to be.

Coming to an event can be more like a day off than a learning day, but skillscymru is packed full of exciting and interactive stands. Whatever you want to achieve find out what your options are by talking to the people on the stands, let them know if you are interested and ask questions.
You don’t know if you don’t ask
Thinking about these questions before you visit can help you get the most out of skillscymru. Remember employers don’t just want good qualifications they also want the right person and that might be you.
