• Look under the bonnet to discover the complexity of car mechanics
• Be first past the winning post on the mechanical horse
• Learn about renewable energy and generate power by pedalling a bicycle
• Start, stop and vary the speed of motor controllers
• Place a wall tile on the skillscymru mosaic feature
• Learn how to build your own website and manipulate images with state of the art software
• Be dazzled by science when experts show you how everyday products are made – everything from plastics to pills
• Play ‘Splat the Rat’ and learn about a career in pest control
• Get creative and produce a thirst-quenching mocktail
• Test your co-ordination with the ‘Nuts and Bolts’ exercise and see how you score on the leaderboard

Skills Performance Stage
There will be exciting performances and demonstrations on a dedicated stage that will thrill and inspire you from dance to makeovers to cookery demonstrations to science experiments and fitness displays.

There will be a packed programme of presentations from keynote and celebrity speakers in the presentation theatre.
Skills Competitions
Skills Competitions offer significant benefit to those who enter and support them including the building of confidence and self esteem, putting excitement into learning and achievement and the promotion of excellence in skills.
Visitors to skillscymru will have the chance to see these competitions in action and then try their hand within our dedicated 'have a go' areas.
Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for Glass and Related Industries, will have the winners from each of their five regional UK finals, competing against one another, each will work on their own vehicle under UK Skills aligned competition conditions. Automotive Glazing is currently not part of UK Skills competitions but by running the UK Master Fitter competition in 2010 the aim is to be integrated to UK and World Skills events from 2011 and for UK Automotive Technicians to be able to compete at both national and international levels.
Groundwork will launch a new and exciting competition at the event that will test the skills and development of teams of young people in the delivery of environmental regeneration projects. Visitors will have a great opportunity to watch environmental skills is at their best.

Not sure what you want to do or how to get the right help? There will be dedicated experts on hand to give you all the advice and guidance you need in specialist drop in clinics. You can get individual advice on careers and the education and training routes available.
Opening Times
You can visit skillscymru at any time. With so much to see we offer special staggered slots for big groups so everyone gets a chance to try the interactive features. We recommend visiting the event for approximately two hours. If you would like to arrange a longer visit or avoid the crowds we have a special Saturday opening.
