The groundbreaking seminar programme featured fun and informative sessions. Ideal for anyone needing insight to find the right job or seeking some refreshing inspiration, these popular talks from successful and well known speakers were free to attend and were both innovative and entertaining.
All places for the seminars were on a first come first served basis so visitors were asked to arrive early to guarantee a seat.
Amazing eggsperiments presented by Techniquest
Techniquest specialises in making science engaging, and this entertaining session turns the spotlight on the egg. What can it demonstrate about chemistry, engineering, and physics? Why does an egg turn from liquid to solid when heated when most things go the other way? How strong is an egg? There’s plenty of opportunity for you to get involved in the amazing eggsperiments!
Breaking into broadcasting presented by BBC Cymru Wales
Interested in a career in the media? This interactive seminar will provide you with some secrets on how to get a successful career in broadcasting, how the BBC recruit and some top tips on their entry level opportunities and trainee schemes in the BBC.
Get geared up for online learning presented by Ufi/learndirect Cymru
An interactive session based around creating the right environment for online learning. Join the session to explore some of the techniques used to create a community of positive e-learners, including simple confidence building measures, creating applications for mobile learning and making effective use of popular tools including Facebook.
Have you got what it takes to be an entrepreneur? presented by Laura Tenison
Laura Tenison has something in common with Richard Branson, Jamie Oliver and Stella McCartney – she has created a successful business and made money! Founder of the baby clothing retailer JoJo Maman Bébé and winner of the 2010 UK Businesswoman of the Year award Laura will offer a great insight into the personal qualities needed to run a successful business; sharing stories of her own career journey and the lessons she learned along the way. Without the need for outside investors, her business has grown from being a kitchen table enterprise to a multi million pound company. If you fancy being your own boss then this is not to be missed.

Esther Rantzen’s career spans more than 40 years and includes presenting 'That's Life' which at its peak reached audience figures of over 18 million, appearances in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here and Strictly Come Dancing, standing as a parliamentary candidate and founder of the children's helpline ChildLine. This session will give you the chance to find out how she has survived in the industry and maintained a highly successful career as a journalist and presenter.
